MR. ODUETSE ANDREW MOTSHIDISI
Chief Executive Officer, Non-Bank Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority
Mr. Oduetse A. Motshidisi is the Chief Executive Officer of the Non-Bank Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority, leading the implementation of the mandate to contribute to the stability of the financial system through effective regulation and supervision of the non-bank financial institutions sector.
Mr. Motshidisi has a long involvement with the financial services sector starting in the 1980s and has built leadership capabilities and a track record of achieving organisational goals.
He rose to the position of Deputy Governor at Bank of Botswana where he oversaw strategic central banking matters, management of the foreign exchange reserves as well as policy advice to the Government on key economic and financial issues.
Mr. Motshidisi has served on various boards including Chairperson of ABSA Bank Botswana and the insurance business. He has also served as Vice-Chairperson of the Botswana Stock Exchange, Vice Chairperson of the Botswana Institute for Development Policy Analysis and represented Botswana as a founding member of the International Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds. Lately, he served as the Chair of the Continental Central Banking Annual Conference on reserves management, which brings together investment officials from African Central banks to address current issues, trends and challenges.
Mr Motshidisi completed his graduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
